The main mechanism of action is to induce intracellular signal transduction by binding to its specific receptor (IGF1R). Igf-1lr3 is one of the most effective activators of AKT signaling pathway. After activating AKT signaling pathway, IGF-1LR3 stimulates cell growth and proliferation, and inhibits apoptosis of Chemicalbook cells. Igf-1lr3 adds 13 amino acids to the N-terminus of the intact IGF-1 molecule to form an 83-amino acid long IGF-1 chain, and replaces the third amino acid of IGF-1 molecule, glutamate (E), with arginine (R), hence R3. Igf-1lr3 showed higher stability and bioactivity than unmodified IGF-1.
